Music - Money - Love

So I don't do this often....   that's a good intro right?

♦MUSIC♦
...is my life.  I sang in a competition today called Wawa-Idol.  I bet you'll never guess what show they based it on...  So I joined for fun, I wanted to sing again and figured this would be a fun event.  I mean it was at Hoagie Day in Philly which is an unreal event; so many people showed up and there were local celebs everywhere.  Not to mention, the winner got an Ipad 2 which gives you incentive to do well.  Anyhow, I'm up there singing and I think, "God, I miss this".  I was born to do it, and know I could do it professionally, not as a frontman though.  I don't care about being famous (it would be cool for a little I guess), what I want to be is famous among the famous.  Meaning, It doesn't matter if "insert generic name here" from "insert generic city here" knows who I am, as long as all the big name producers in the music business know to call me when they need a back up singer.

I've recorded some stuff on youtube over the last few years (youtube.com/eidlawnairb #shamelessplug) and its getting to the point where I want a Mac and some recording equipment so I can do it a lot more.  I bought a guitar this year and a bass two years ago, and i'm sure I could find a beat machine on my iphone so I may actually be able to make something worth listening to.  I could make 100 full posts about music but I'll spare you and end it with my music suggestions.. as of right now.

♦Money♦

Let's not lie, money would help... A LOT!  Those who say money doesn't buy happiness are just lying to themselves.  Now keep in mind, I am NOT saying that you can't be happy without a ton of money, or on the other side, people with money never get sad.  What I'm saying is, in the broad scope of things, if you have a ton of money there's a good chance you will be generally happier than if you're making 12$ an hour.  In my life, it would allow me to buy all of the things I want in order to make good music, and it would let me give to the people in my life that need a little help.  I could help some friends out with school, or maybe sponsor an old new friend (if that makes sense) as she follows her dreams and moves to L.A., after all, these friends deserve it.  Not to mention, maybe I could move out and take a girl out on a date.  The problem with money is, 95% of the time, you don't make the big bucks doing the thing you love the most.  Think about it, besides athletes and celebrities who do you know that makes 6+ digits and is doing their dream job, Bill Gates doesn't count, the only reason he loves his job is because it pays him a gazillion dollars a year and all he does is explain powerpoints and then go back to his house in paradise (I'm exaggerating there but you get my point). So here's the big question.  Do you take the dream job and make pennies, or take the secure job and count down every week until Friday comes.  I think I choose the latter of the 2.  Ultimately, money does buy happiness.

♦LOVE♦
It's been a while.  I mean truly a WHILE!!!  I'm not exactly what you'd call "good with the ladies"... actually, I think I qualify as the exact opposite as that.  And, I think I'm okay with that.  Love is the greatest thing on earth (except for a nice MLT...) so why would I want to cheat love and be a manwhore... I wouldn't.  Maybe one of these days I'll grow a pair and let that certain someone know how I feel.  Or maybe not.
